The military council carried out an airstrike over the Maekanal region in Kawkareik township, the Karen National Union-controlled area at about 7 a.m. today.

 

It bombed Maekanal Wards 5 and 6, but the exact number of casualties is unknown.

 

In the first week of April, fighting broke out in the Maekanal region, causing thousands of civilians to flee.

 

Elders and expectant women are among the internally displaced, and they require humanitarian assistance.
