Burma Army bomb Thantlang in Chin state

A local anti-junta resistance group warned people in Thantlang township to be always on alert for indiscriminate air strikes conducted by the military.

 

The Chinland Defense Force-Thantlang (CDF-Thantlang) said fighter jets and military helicopters have dropped 100 rounds of bombs in various areas in the township after the army suffered losses during the Tilim military operations by the resistance forces.

 

"The People of Thantlang, should be careful going around the township as the fighting could be intensifying due to the military air strikes using jet fighters, helicopters dropping bombs indiscriminately,” according to the statement.

 

A total of 20 military personnel were killed and at least 25 others injured during the month-long long Tilim Operation inside Thantlang town were nearly 50 weapons were also seized by the resistance forces, according to CDF Thantlang.

 

The operation that started on December 29 was conducted by the coalition forces of CDF-Thantlang and Chin National Army.

 

During the operation, the local defense forces destroyed seven houses that were being used by the military and damaged some parts of two Mi-17 helicopters.

 

The anti-junta forces also attacked the Thantlang police station and seized over 40 weapons and arrested six military personnel alive.

 

The resistance forces lost a total of six comrades from CDF-Thantlang and Chin National Army during the operation.
