Nearly 2000 residents near Myanmar’s administrative capital of Naypyidaw were forced to flee their homes due to fighting between resistance forces and government troops.

One of the displaced persons said fighting intensified for four days from August 10 to 14 in Pyinmana township in Northern Thandaung (special region), about 45 miles from Naypyidaw.

The displaced persons were from the villages of Yae Pu Lay, Yae Pu Taung, Boma Ahtet and other three villages.

"Currently, they are in need of rice, edible oil and other basic necessities. They are also facing difficulties financially in order to rent temporary places to stay," said the source.

Some buildings in Boma Ahtet village were destroyed due to the air strike, which occurred on August 11. Some of the elders who have been left in the village during the fighting were rescued recently.

It is said that the regime forces deployed inside the Boma Ahtet village retreated today and people will be able to return to their village.

About 50 military personnel were killed during the four days long fighting in the special region of Pyinmana township and resistance forces seized the Boma Thandaung military outpost, according to the announcement of the Northern Thandaung Defense Force (Special Region) -NTDF.
